Picking up your vehicle with minimal contact
We're here to fulfil your vehicle rental needs and want you to know that every one of our employees is working diligently to provide the highest levels of safety at our facilities and in our vehicles.
- Temperature screening is conducted when entering the location.
- We use counter-screens to observe social distancing protocols at all airports and major locations.
- Clear social distancing floor markings at rental desks
- Hand sanitisers are available
- Staff are provided with masks and gloves
- Paperless rental agreements are available at most locations
Keeping our vehicles clean and safe

Every vehicle is carefully cleaned before every rental

We are using specific approved disinfectant

Special attention is paid to: steering wheels, indicators, dashboards, hand grips, in-car entertainment controls, cup holders, centre consoles, and all door handles both inside and out
Returning your vehicle safely and preparing it for the next renter
- When you leave the vehicle, please check that you have removed all your belongings, personal effects and rubbish
- We will send your invoice to the email address on file / provided to us when you return the car. Or you can retrieve your invoice here, 48 hours after your rental.
- Staff are provided with masks and gloves
- Vehicle cleaned again ready for the next rental
Keeping our employees safe
- Staff are provided with masks and gloves
- Employees are required to stay at home if they don’t feel well
- Employees are required to wash their hands frequently and have been trained on Health & Safety standards and on regulation guidelines, including products and processes available to ensure your safety

Avis Chauffeur Driven Services
We are able to continue chauffeur driven services on Level 1 lockdown in South Africa. The safety of our chauffeurs, passengers and their familes remain our priority at Avis, therefore we are following the below as set out be the South African Public Transportation and Health Departments:
Passengers:
- All passengers to wear face masks
- Transportation of people undertaking essential work
- The economic sectors allowed to return to work
Vehicle Capacity
Note the maximum passengers have been changed for the duration of the Level 3 Covid-19 Lockdown permits 70% of vehicles' permitted capacity, examples:

Operation Hours
Chauffeur Driven services will operate with collection times between 05h00 and 19h00.
Sanitisation
- Vehicles are sanitised before each collection.
- We use sanitisers with minimum 60% alcohol content.
- The inside of the vehicle is sprayed.
- And the doors, handles, arm rests, window switches, winder and handles are sanitised and wiped down.
