East London Zoo
If living animals are more your style, take a leisurely drive along Esplanade Street to see the dolphins at play among the waves. Alternatively you might prefer to wander around the East London Zoo for an hour or two to see the tigers, jaguar and African wild dogs.
Game Reserves
Wind your windows down and head out of town to the Inkwenkwezi Private Game Reserves for an elephant-back ride, or Mpongo Private Game Reserve where you can enjoy a casual meal after your game drive.
East London Coast Nature Reserve
This loose conglomeration of 10 separate coastal reserves and 2 state forests is scattered all over the Eastern Cape, preserving a wide range of species and ecosystems under one banner.
Once you have had your fill of these serene habitats, head back along the open road to your starting point at Avis East London Airport.
