November 1999 saw the opening of the Avis Van Rental franchise in Port Elizabeth in the Eastern Cape. A gradual, controlled and managed growth followed with a fleet and network expansion program. One year later the East London office opened it's doors.

Lock Street Gaol
Formerly a prison, built in 1880, it now houses various interesting shops.
